Julien Macdonald is always one of my favourite shows on the London Fashion Week schedule. Always an amazing production, top model casting & the hair & makeup is always on point! Here are the behind the scenes shots & some images from the show.
The venue was Invicta Plaza in South Bank, London were they had huge softbox lamps literally everywhere giving some amazing continuous lighting. This is an available light shot of Jasmine Saunders caught candidly & one of my favourite makeup shots.
Makeup by Maybelline New York.
Alessandra Ambrosio hosted some cocktail fun with Martha Hunt & Julien MacDonald.
The 25th new hair on post on Snapchat.
Another continuous light shot next to one of the huge lamps. Perfect studio lighting backstage which I absolutely love! Most of the time backstage it's really dark & the high or dark ceilings make it impossible to use bounce flash.
Cheers!! Julien Macdonald & Alessandra Ambrosio raise a glass of Ciroc, honey & lime.

Complimentary vodka courtesy of Ciroc. There's a reason to be happy.
So there was a certain kind of panic backstage as the collection had still not arrived & nobody knew where it was! Leading up to showtime it finally arrived to everyones relief.
Embellishment came as embroidered lace & crstal mesh, the girls were sewn into their looks with metallic pieces & figure hugging split dresses. A sleek & sexy style which is a signature of Julien MacDonald's designs.
It sometimes takes this many creatives just to get one model ready for the catwalk.
First look for Hailey Baldwin, she looks amazing.
Opening the show with the music from James Cameron's epic movie Aliens. Coincidently I watched the film on my flight from San Diego to New York City last week.
I rarely shoot the runway nowadays but I really enjoyed capturing some creative photography as opposed to the usual look book type images you see in magazines.
Singer Ronan Keating stopped for a couple of shots after the show, a really nice guy! Check out his work www.ronankeating.com
Alessandra Ambrosio shot after the show backstage. Once of my favourite models of all time and one of the best Victoria's Secret Angels.

It's rare to get an opportunity to shoot a dress rehearsal at London Fashion Week, usually all the models are changed into first looks around 10 minutes before hitting the catwalk. Essentially a fashion show without a crowd, I was lucky enough to capture the preparation for the Paul Costello LFW show at the amazing venue of the Waldolf Hilton in Covent Garden, London.
The show took inspiration from the 1960's men & women's fashions in London.
Halfway through the prep Paul Costello started sketching some designs, possibly getting inspired for next season.
All about the lashes.
Model fun backstage.
The long ponytail is always a favourite, very similar to The Blonds show at NYFW.
TV presenter Vogue Williams lining up with the models.
