Magdalena Frackowiak - Exit Issa London

Fast forward to London Fashion Week now and a lucky shot of Polish supermodel Magdalena Frackowiak exiting the Issa London show. Budgets in London are lower than in New York, Milan and Paris so there are some must see shows with the worlds biggest models walking. Issa is one of them. Street Style differs per capital. Most models can walk around care free in London without attracting much press attention. New York is sometimes seen to have the NYPD escorting models to their drivers via the exits.

Milan and in particular Paris most models are given Paparazzi red carpet treatment. Scores of bloggers, newspapers and various other publications swarm around then with 1000's of shutter clicks and flashes going off. London Fashion Week is great in the way that you can take it easy with snapping off duty models. This was shot using a Canon 5D Mark II and a Canon 24 - 70mm f2.8 L lens.

New York Fashion Week - Fall 2012

So now onwards to New York Fashion Week. My first few days were shot around Lincoln Center which was the main hub of NYFW. Here are some images shot from the wonderful Anna Sui Fall 2012 collection. Something a little different to the usual collections I shoot, top casting too.

Times Square

This is a shot I took in Times Square in NYC and one of my favourite travel photos of the trip. I had finished my editing from NYFW for the evening and sent the shots off to press. After the work for the day was done I decided to go on an adventure to Times Square with my camera, it was a very magical experience.

New York City

New York is one place I have always wanted to visit, I finally had the opportunity a couple of weeks ago and the city went completely beyond my expectations. My trip was primarily for the Fall 2012 New York Fashion Week but it turned into a great adventure inside and outside of fashion week. I had finally made it to the last of the big 4 fashion weeks after previously shooting London, Milan and Paris. Not only that but this was my first time out of Europe making the trip even more exciting. Prior to my trip I decided there was only one logical place in NYC to visit first: The Empire State Building.

One of my photography ambitions has been to shoot cityscapes from the top of the Empire State Building. I spent more than an hour shooting from the observation tower using a Canon 28 - 300mm L telephoto lens. These shots were taken at around 8am Wednesday February 8th 2012, this was the day before NYFW and the only day I had for travel photography.

I was happy with the shots I took and they were exactly what I needed to use for the new 'Travel Gallery' section of my new website. During my next visit to NYC I'm planning a nigh time cityscape of Manhattan.
